Well, everyone, it’s time for us to go and take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and see how this particular phone holds up in 2024.
Now, I will be the first person to tell you the average everyday person should not be even thinking about purchasing a phone like this. It doesn’t make any sense at all, and you are much better off purchasing a device that is still even kind of supported with software.
This thing has not only been outdated for this year, it’s been outdated for like 10 years now. So from that particular situation, please do not go ahead and buy this device. It makes zero sense at all. You are much better off, like I said, buying a device that is still kind of supported with software, and this thing just doesn’t make any sense at all to go and pick up.

Now, starting off with the outside of this particular phone, on the front of this particular device, you’re getting a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display. It’s 1080P, and overall, like it’s a good-looking device. You know, I think even now in 2024, it still is like a very interesting, beautiful looking phone.
The thing to keep in mind here is that it is a substantially older-looking device. You’re getting front-facing home buttons, still thick bezels all throughout, but this phone came out in 2013. It is kind of crazy that a phone of this caliber and power came out in that day and age.
You’re getting capacitive keys on the side of the home button as well. You’re getting this USB 3.0 port at the bottom, which is like micro USB with the extra port to charge faster.
You’re getting a headphone jack. On the back side, you are getting a removable plastic back with a removable battery, expandable storage, and that’s another really cool thing going on for this particular device too.
We basically have that type of capability right there. If you’re going to go through and pick up a phone, it really is a nice thing that we have from this particular device. So from that side, that definitely gets a thumbs up from me as well.
Now, on the outside, there really isn’t anything else super crazy going on here, but it is really nice to have a phone like this with that caliber and that specific capability. It is a really nice thing.
When it comes down to the whole camera side, the camera on this thing when it first came out was excellent. You’re getting that single 13-megapixel camera on the back with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
It was an okay camera, you know, 1080p on the front side with 4K on the back, which was very impressive for a phone of that day and age. But I will tell you, for a majority of phones today, it just isn’t that great of a camera.
Like I’ve stated before, I would hate for you to buy a device if it’s already outdated with power and everything. That is the problem you’re going to get with this type of phone.
I would hate for you to buy a phone like this if it’s already going to be outdated and have issues, which is basically what’s going to happen with this particular phone. So once again, keep that in mind; it’s just not that good of a camera when it comes down to it.
On top of that, when it comes to software longevity, this is probably the worst aspect of this phone. This phone is pretty much done getting software support and has been done getting software support for many years now.
That’s the big thing to keep in mind because I would hate for you to buy a phone if it’s already outdated with software. Not only is this device outdated with software, but it’s been outdated for many years.
So what is the point of getting a phone like this if it’s already going to be obsolete when you buy it? From that side, I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy a phone like this because it’s already done getting software updates. You are substantially better off buying a phone that will get software updates, like the Galaxy S21 or the Google Pixel 6.
In terms of performance, this phone is already slow. It’s a standard Snapdragon 800 chipset inside with 3 GB of RAM.
So when it comes to that side, the performance of this phone just isn’t that great either. I look at this type of device and don’t think it’s worth buying anymore, especially when it comes to that side.
What’s the point of buying a phone like this if it’s already going to be at its last leg? I look at a phone like this again, and I just don’t see any reason to buy it because it’s already outdated.
So overall, what I’ll definitely tell you is if you’re going to go and look at these two devices, I probably wouldn’t recommend a single person to go ahead and buy something like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
It makes zero sense at all to go and buy a phone like this, and you are way better off purchasing a device that is still supported with software. This thing is done getting software support, and I wouldn’t recommend buying it at all.
